National Biofuel Technology Platforms and Biofuel and Bioenergy Associations
Below are details of national biofuels technology platforms, and biofuels and bioenergy associations. These are independent national organsiations with no direct link to the EBTP. However, they may address similar topics such as research and demonstration, sustainability, feedstocks, conversion, end use and market development at a national level. More information is available on the website of each organisation.
Note: Some Member States don't currently have a specific association or platform for bioenergy (for example, France, United Kingdom), in which case the national renewables energy association is listed.
Austrian Biomass Association
Belgian association for the valorization of biomas for non-food uses, including bioenergy and biofuels.
BGBIOM was created in the autumn of 1998, and became a member of European Biomass Association (AEBIOM). BGBIOM promotes renewable energy sources, mainly biomass, plant residues and animal manure as energy sources for sustainable society.
Czech Technology Platform for Biofuels in Transport and the Chemical Industry
Founded in 2006, the main interest area of the TP is a promotion of second generation biofuels, with particular focus on biomass production and conversion, biofuels transport, usage and sustainability. Currently, the TP consists of 30 members, including companies, academia, applied research, stock producers and oil refineries.

Swiss Biofuels Platform
The main objective of the Biofuels Platform is to promote and facilitate the use of sustainable biofuels in the transport sector in Switzerland. More particularly, the Biofuels Platform means to inform, communicate, propose strategies, bring solutions and take action, with the support of local and federal authorities. It is also a source of regular up-to-date information in the field of liquid biofuels.
