Open consultation on high iLUC-risk feedstock and certification – Have your say by 8 march 2019

Last 8 February 2019, the European Commission launched a consultation on a draft delegated act (ref. Ares(2019)762855 - 08/02/2019), related to the revised Renewable Energy Directive - RED II adopted in December 2018.

The draft delegated act sets out specific criteria both for:

  • determining the high ILUC-risk feedstock for which a significant expansion of the production area into land with high carbon stock is observed;
  • certifying low ILUC-risk biofuels, bioliquids and biomass fuels.

The consultation remains open until 8 March 2019.
