This joint workshop brought the European Biofuels Technology Platform, the International Biomass Torrefaction Council, and the Renewable Heating & Cooling European Technology Platform to present the state of the art on thermally treated biomass in Europe, and looks forward at how technology and markets can be developed to 2030 and beyond.

The workshop was organised in association with the AEBIOM European Bioenergy Conference, which has kindly provided the workshop facilities and event management.

Resource Efficiency to achieve the targets of Bioeconomy for 2020

This half-day workshop was a Parallel Event hosted within the 21st European Biomass Conference and Exhibition. The workshop programme was organised by EBTP and the Renewable Heating & Cooling European Technology Platform. The aim of the workshop was to map current research, demonstration and policy related activities for biomass supply and logistics; discuss future priorities for short (2020), medium (2030) and long term (2050) targeting efficient resource mobilisation.

The meeting was organised in collaboration with the Bioboost, BASIS, Biomass Policies, Europunning, INFRES, LogistEC, OPTIMA, OPTIMISC and Sector projects.

Biomass Supply Challenges: How to meet biomass demand by 2020?

Rotterdam, Netherlands, 15 March 2012

A half-day workshop jointly organised by the European Biofuels Technology Platform and the Renewable Heating and Cooling European Technology Platform, in co-operation with World Biofuels Markets 2012.

Demand for sustainable biomass is forecast to increase greatly over the next decade for biofuels producers (road, air and marine), biorefineries, utilities and bioenergy producers. This workshop brings together speakers from various sectors across Europe to discuss the challenge of providing reliable volumes of biomass at competitive cost, while meeting sustainability criteria.

Presentations from the workshop are now available. Thanks to all the speakers and aprticipants for their valuable inights into biomass supply and demand issues.


Second International Workshop on Biomass & Carbon Capture and Storage

Cardiff, UK, 25 -26 October 2011

The Bio-CCS JTF was involved in the the Second International Workshop on Biomass & Carbon Capture and Storage, which was hosted by the Cardiff Univesity School of Engineering on 25th and 26th October 2011.

The workshop was organised by Bellona in association with Cardiff University (both respresented on the EBTP Steering Commitee at the time). Bellona is also a member of ZEP. The event was kindly sponsored by Alstom and IEAGHG, and builds upon the 1st International Workhop on Bio-CCS held in Orléans France on 14th and 15th October 2010.
