Webinar: Upgrading of Pyrolysis Oil

Monday 8 June 2020, 14:00 – 15:30 CEST

The H2020 projects MUSIC (www.music-h2020.eu) and BIOFIT (www.biofit-h2020.eu), supported by ETIP Bioenergy (www.etipbioenergy.eu), kindly invite you to participate in the above webinar on the upgrading of fast pyrolysis bio-oils. This webinar is the second part of a twin webinar, of which the first (held on 25 May 2020) covered the fundamentals of biomass pyrolysis. Upgrading of pyrolysis oil to produce advanced biofuels in fossil refineries or stand-alone plants has developed rapidly in the last few years, and first commercial applications are being pursued just now. In this webinar you will get information on the state-of-the-art in this promising field, and learn about developments, (remaining) issues and opportunities.

We organise our next webinar on 8 June 2020, 14:00 – 15:30 CEST on the topic of upgrading of pyrolysis oil. Our speakers and their topics include:

• Rune Lødeng, Senior Scientist, SINTEF Industry. He will provide a presentation on “Upgrading fast pyrolysis bio-oil by co-hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) and co-hydrotreating (HT)”

• Tijs Lammens is Senior Process Engineer, BTG-Bioliquids BV. He will present about “Methodologies for biogenic carbon determination when co-processing fast pyrolysis bio-oil”

• Bert van de Beld, Technology Director, BTG Biomass Technology Group BV will shed light on BTG’s business and technology development targeting “(Marine) transport biofuels from fast pyrolysis bio-oil”

The webinar will be moderated by John Vos, MUSIC Project Coordinator / BTG.
