Centre for Process Innovation
CPI is a technology innovatiuon centre with capabilities in waste to energy, providing viable, green, low-carbon alternatives to current energy production methods. Has developed a flexible anaerobic digestion platform for food waste, energy crops, crop residues, slurry and manure. Also offers a National Industrial Biotechnology Facility, which can be used to test and optimise the conversion of waste biomass into biofuels. Involved in development oif biorefinery technology in the UK.
