INTERACTIVE MAP OF NATIONAL BIOENERGY R&I PROJECTS

This interactive tool provides an overview of Bioenergy R&I projects currently deployed at EU and national level across the SET Plan countries engaged in IWG8 (Implementation Working Group for Action 8). Based on the Report on the state of play of the SET Plan IP8, it was developed with the aim to improve the accessibility to information through a dynamic visualization of data.

SET4BIO project has set a goal of mapping the most important ongoing and recently finished activities that will enable realizing the SET Plan IP8 - Implementation Plan for Action 8: Bioenergy and Renewable Fuels for Sustainable Transport.

The covered projects are browsable by multiple criteria, especially by country and R&I activity. Other detailed information available on each project is displayed in popups and panels.

This map is a work in progress, and new information about bioenergy projects is included along with periodical updates of the Report.

VALUE CHAIN POTENTIAL EVENT (20 MAY 2021)

The first theme-based Virtual Event of the SET4BIO Innovation Challenge was focused on Value Chain Potential of solutions, with a first introduction to relevant funding opportunities associated to European Innovation.

INNOVATION HEIGHT EVENT (30 JUNE 2021)

The second theme-based Virtual Event was focused on Innovation Height. In the first session, the candidates presented the technical aspects of their solutions, and received a lot of feedback on their works by the Board of Experts. In the second session, three prominent speakers gave a wider overview on public funding opportunities for Bioenergy at EU level.

The next Virtual Event will be held on September 16 and will focus on Business Viability. The following one dedicated to Scalability will take place in October.

REPORT ON INDUSTRY STAKEHOLDER NEED AND GAP ASSESSMENT

In order to implement the most relevant stakeholders activities, a need assessment and gap analysis were performed based on the results of the survey addressed to SET4BIO industry stakeholders.

In this factsheet, an overview is provided on major funding and financing mechanisms to realize the Implementation Working P8, as mapped out in the reports on public funding and private financing opportunities for Bioenergy projects available both at national and at EU level among the IWG8 countries.

SET4BIO AT EUBCE 2021

SET4BIO joined the 29th edition of the EUBCE – European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, held virtually on April 26-29, 2021, where the Consortium had multiple chances to showcase the project activities and results.

In the framework of the Conference, SET4BIO took part to a Scientific Colloquium dedicated to Market Implementation, Investments and Financing Strategies for Bioenergy Production and Integration in Energy Systems. The main findings of SET4BIO in this field were outlined by the Consortium partners in a poster presentation entitled “State of Play of Bioenergy Projects and Financing Mechanisms and Opportunities at EU and Member States Level”.

SET4BIO had also the opportunity to promote its work in a permanent, dedicated virtual booth provided with space for project description, upload of materials and networking facilities.
