ENTEC2 webinar series opens with digitalisation and AI in the energy sector

Online webinar on 29 October to discuss the findings of the first ENTEC2 study.

From October to December 2026, the Energy Transition Expertise Centre – ENTEC2 – is holding a series of three online webinars to present its first studies on digitalisation and AI, citizen energy, and future EU energy systems. Each 90-minute event focuses on one study. It is a chance to discuss the findings with the authors, the European Commission and stakeholders.

The series opens on 29 October 2026, 15:00–16:30 CET, with the study “Support for the preparations of a strategic roadmap for digitalisation and AI in the energy sector“. Prepared for DG ENER, the study assesses where AI and digital technologies can bring the most value to Europe’s energy system, from grid operation to the role of data centres. It also looks at what is holding back their uptake. Its findings support the Commission’s preparatory work on a strategic roadmap for digitalisation and AI in energy.

Webinar agenda:

  • Welcome & Introduction (5’)
  • DG ENER Policy Perspective (10’)
  • Study Findings Presentation (40’)
  • Q&A (30′)
  • Conclusions and Next Steps (5′)

To make the session as interactive as possible, participants are invited to submit their questions in advance through this survey.

The following two webinars will present the studies “Citizen energy: national targets and potential“, which is already published, and “Future EU energy systems“, which will be published shortly. Dates and times will be announced soon.
