Bio Eco Energy Company is Croatian based company established in 2016. We are providing a turnkey solution for developing the sustainable feedstock supply chain based on Micanthus x giganteus energy plant. Our main goal is to provide the full logistic solution in establishing the biomass plantation - from the production of first-class planting material (rhizomes) in our Nursery plantation and establishing the biomass plantation, to biomass production for the end user.

When investing in a biomass plant, a project developer must be certain that the plant will receive sufficient biomass to keep the plant running and keep the project financially viable, so establishing a secure biomass supply is a precondition for a successful biomass project.

Miscanthus x giganteus is a lignocellulosic crop. The most important characteristics of lignocellulosic biomass are a good strength, flammability, reactivity and biodegradability. Lignocellulosic biomass is one of the most common polymers in the bulk structure and the nature of lignocellulosic biomass. It contains 40% to 50% cellulose, 25% to 35% hemicellulose and 15% to 20% lignin.

Except for use in the production of electricity and heat, lignocellulosic biomass energy crop Miscanthus x giganteus can be used in the process of anaerobic fermentation (with combination with other raw materials) in the production of biogas, liquid biofuels, primarily bioethanol. Thanks to the high yields (up to 30 tonnes/ha) and a high percentage of cellulose and hemicellulose, Miscanthus x giganteus is the ideal crop for producing biofuels.
