The 1st Call of the Innovation Fund is Open

The first Call of the Innovation Fund was officially launched on 2 July 2020.

This specific call is focused on ‘large-scale’ projects, having a capital expenditure above EUR 7.5 million (as per reference to the Innovation Fund delegated regulation).

The scope is to fund clean energy and clean industry innovative investments to contribute to the green recovery of the European economy, with an outlook to reaching climate neutrality in the shortest possible time.

With a size of EUR 1 billion, besides EUR 8 million for project development assistance, the call is open to either single applicants (companies) or consortia, from energy-intensive industries, including CCUS, renewable energy, energy storage, substitute products and cross-cutting projects.

Deadline is 29 October 2020, at 17:00 Brussels time.
